How can the health care bill be passed on the democrat vote alone?

Has this been done before? I thought they needed both republican and democrat vote – . Why don’t they use the republican vote alone – then it won’t pass.

The democrats have the majority, therefore they dont need the republican votes to pass anything. Theres so many more dems than republicans that the repub vote doesnt matter

Because they have enough Votes to pass this they have at least 220 last I have count they will likely lose only 12 Democrats the rest are for it Including Dennis Kuncinich so This will pass and the system will be Reformed.

If the Democrats had the votes they would have passed the bill already and wouldn’t be talking about the Slaughter rule. The rule is unconstitutional and if used opens a Pandora’s box of problems. The Constitution is very specific about the passing of a bill.It says that every member of Congress must vote yea or nay on the bill and the vote must be recorded. To vote yes on an amendment and say that by voting for the amendment you voted for the bill is wrong and every American,Republican and Democrat should be outraged at this underhanded attempt to circumvent the Constitution. If we allow the Democrats to do it this time, how will we stop the Republicans from doing it in the future. We need the Constitution to be followed by both parties for the good of this country. We need the honest politicians to stand up to this miscarriage of justice and demand an up or down vote on the bill itself
