If you believe one thing, do you not want to prove it to yourself beyond reasonable doubt?

The way to do this is not to get your information from blatantly political pundits. The way to do this is by getting your information from the most reliable third party sources you can find.

For example, interested in global warming?

Look up all the well established SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATIONS engaging in climatic, geologic, and meteorologic research and see what are their official positions. Look up that list and then go to their OFFICIAL WEBSITES.

Interested in whether supply side economics really is superior to Keynesian economics?

Go to the agencies responsible for keeping offical historical data on real inflation adjusted GDP, tax revenues, poverty rates, median incomes, etc, etc. They exist. Compare the percent increase during supply side times versus keynesian times.

It’s as simple as that.
If not simple, straight forward.

There’s a great NASA web page that explains the difference between weather and climate. One deals with single data points, while the other deals with AVERAGE data.

For example, I can’t predict the exact temp here on December 25th, but I can be reasonably sure that it will be colder!

My field is engineering. It is hard to predict the exact state of a vehicle because sensors are noisy, but a Kalman filter will filter out the noise and give you a pretty damn good estimate of the actual state.
