Southern Methodist University (SMU) is probably the site of George Bush (43) Presidential Library. Its library will be the most expensive ever built Presidential Library with an estimated value of the construction of 0,000,000. This project will join the Bush presidential library of all libraries in our most recent presidents. Former President Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George Bush (41), Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon now keep records and archives of their role in one.

In fact, twelve presidential libraries can be found across America. Some fee public access to view photographs, films, letters and memoirs of former presidents and first ladies. Since ancient tombs of the pharaohs, these presidential libraries stand as monuments to the past U.S. presidents.

Of course, the problem for many of these large libraries is what to put. A large monument of a man needs a historic achievement. He must show impressive success internal and external situation or the world, covering achievement. Indeed Presidential Library needs real political achievement and testament to be very relevant.

This is the last year of the second term of four years in office as commander in chief began meeting to consider the use of the word “old” compared to historic presidential mandate. Choosing the next U.S. president is about. The U.S. Congress is even less than usual waiting for the next presidential elections and new leadership. In fact, the term “lame duck” is often used to describe the last year of an administration in the Oval Office.

For all these reasons, the president turns to foreign policy during the final last year to find some meaning. Often, the success of the Presidency during the last year of second term was not found with other countries ‘lame duck’ domestic agenda. In the spectrum of foreign policy, the attention of the President in his final year in office ends up back in Israel and the Middle East. The last two administrations have tried to become a broker in this troubled part of the world, peace elusive in the case last year in office. Indeed, peace in the Middle East would be a lasting legacy for the president of the United States.

In the peace initiative sponsored last major United States between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs in the last year of second term of President William Jefferson Clinton (2000). Clinton tried to broker peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. This is not a formula negotiated peace to Israel “occupied” land swap agreement for peace. Mira 2000 Clinton-sponsored talks between Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat.

The consequences of this latest peace initiative doubtful minute Clinton described in the book, “The Much Too Promised Land.” . Temptations of the clock, “the author of the book and scholar Aaron David Miller writes about his experience as a senior American negotiator in the talks that I thoose described as Aaron David Miller writes:” By moving too fast and too far, the Clinton administration ultimately undermine the prospects for hope. “History teaches us that the distribution of the peace initiative in the last minute, leading to escalation of violence in Israel. Indeed, eight years later, the prospects for peace in the Middle East is elusive as ever. Of course, this failure of foreign policy in the last year of his term will not be revealed in the archives of the Clinton Presidential Library.

George Bush starts last year in office in 2008 in the same way that William Jefferson Clinton was in 2000. After seven years as U.S. president, Bush just made his first trip to Jerusalem. Bush recently predicted that a peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs “can happen” in 2008. Bush also used the word “employed” to describe Israel’s hold on the West Coast. It is obvious that the same formula is not diplomatic, an exchange of territories under Israeli control of the promise of peace in 2000, will be tried again in 2008.

However, not the conditions of peace in Israel in 2008 there. Today, things are far worse for Israel and for 2000. Iran sponsors terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah rockets on Israeli territory, all the days. Iran says Israel should be “wiped off the map”. Israeli and Palestinian peace appears Partners President Mahmoud Abbas, is now part of his own position of power that is at best hypothetical.

It is obvious that peace in the Middle East legacy will not appear in the records of Bush Library (43) president. This is not surprising that another American administration which has governed for eight years, will be able to ask for peace in the Middle East as a success. The fact is that it is British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s ten years of peace missions and 07:30 to restore peace in Northern Ireland. Problems in the Middle East, involving multiple countries and establish a lasting peace is a task more difficult and more complex than in Northern Ireland.

The fact is that it takes time, dedication, diplomatic work tedious, and plain luck to achieve a breakthrough on complex issues such as world peace in the Middle East. It requires many years of initiative and perseverance, which includes more than several months of diplomatic work in the last minute at the end of time in the office of president.

The reality is that a diplomatic breakthrough for lasting peace in Israel and the Middle East must focus on purpose all the time president. Unfortunately, over the last two administrations, it seems to be nothing more than an initiative to end the year in search of a foreign policy legacy to the archives of the Library Project.

James William Smith has held senior positions in some of the largest financial services companies in the U.S. for the past 25 years. He also supported business advice for insurance organizations and start-ups. I’ve always been interested in writing and listening to different viewpoints on interesting topics.
